Initial Review of The New Apple I Phone

I have been watching the release of this cool new phone - The Apple i Phone for quite some time and I just had to have one as soon as it came out.Unfortunately here in the uK the phone was a little later in release so we had to wait. I've got mine on order and as soon as its in my hands I will write about it. Meanwhile if you are reading this - everyone and I mean everyone is clamouring to get hold of one. Apple's latest release - The Apple i Phone Looking back I suspect that this is probably the most hyped gadget in sine I can remember. It certainly sounds like it will change how yu do things online and off if you let this little gadget do ts little game of tricks.i have read many reviews and a few are touting that it is flawed in many ways that one It lacks some of the features that many of the current phones already have. Is it flawed in its looks . I dont think so. All you have to do is watch in amazement in the crowds outside the stores on launch day. Are they all crazy ? I think not. In my book a phone does not need to every trick in the book. Does it perform. Of course it does. It does all the things it is meant to do.In the past I've used a Palm Pilot and all its successors. My last phone was an XDa and the XDA 2 from the UK company O2. I used that phone and the built in manager for over 7 years without fail. I took one look at the Apple i Phone and I knew it was going to be a gangbuster of a phone and mini computer come personal organiser. It certainly has the an incredible look and feel. Its like the lines of a Ferrari. Modelled on the same simplicity as the unbelievably succesfull iPod in its design. This is a true muti function device that almost stands by itself in a marketplace that is continuously changing. It's a Phone, ipod and a hand held compter with web browsing prowess not seen thus far.

Since launch there seems to be very few outlets where it is actually available, although that is changing rapidly. I picked mine up from someone who abviously went to all the trouble of sourcing quite a few and then offerring it. I just picked mine up for a few bucks more without all the hassle. In the Uk the situation is somewhat different. The UK market tends to follow on a few months later and as of wrting its not very freely available from the High Street Stores except from the Apple Stores dotted around the Main Cities. Although its price seems somewhat expensive - you are getting good value in one unit. The fact that you are getting a Phone, email, computer with brwser, time management organiser and a Camera all in one. And lets not forgetone of the main reasons why we buy these kinds of gadgets...the cool eefect!. Yes its one of the coolest gadgets/ phone you can get your hands on. With this one you are making a statement. I used to say - "why would you want all those things in one unit?" when most people never use the majority of the features anyway. Although I used my Xda extensively, especially when I was travelling all ove Europe, India and the USA. I indeed needed a separate digital camera and access to a PC. Unfortunately my XDa was not designed by Apple! . I had to hide in my back pocket. There's no chance of that happenning any time soon. I can sit this cool object on the bar as I admire its sleek thin lines and the shiny glass surface with a pulsating lights - urging me to answer my email, but I resist and take a sip of my dry martini Shaken not stirred. You see what it does to men ! and women....I wont even go there. Lets not forget that apart from the outer beauty and the scratchproof glass, the apple i Phone is also a technoligical breakthrough on the inside. Its very fast and extremely easy to use and very intuitive, just like the ipod was and still is. I will be reporting the charging times and other features as and when. One of the drawback I gather is that you cannot voice dial. Its not really a drawback for me. I never ever used it on any of my other phones. I am not too happy that it does indeed not have an additional slot for a memory card, but I suspect Apple will change that on subsequent models.
